CONGRATULATIONS : F8 PRIZE WINNER in JUNE 2009 EXAMS

Heartiest Congratulations to my student, Mr (Jack)Jian Hua Chew for scoring the highest marks for F8 in Malaysia. He beats thousands of other candidates. I am proud to admit he is hardworking, full class attendance and focused on exam techniques paid off.

If he can do it, so can all of you students. I always share the same passion to support and assist EVERYONE of YOU to pass. The fact that F8 has the LOWEST pass rate (shocking 19% only) in Malaysia pose an opportunity for you. The marking standard becomes relatively low compared to international standard. It means (unfortunately) that the majority of F8 candidates don't have a clue on how to manage and tackle the exam paper. But you have attended my classes, with lots and lots of exam techniques, put you all in better advantage.

To Jack, if you are reading this, though I am happy over your achievement, but this is only a battle you won. To win the War ie pass ACCA, you need to continue be strong, determined and

----- as Winston Churchill say, "Never, never, never give up! I say once again 'Never'." -----

PIC 01: Britain's Prime Minister during World War II

PIC02: PROGRESS IS ALWAYS ACTION - MOVING FORWARD!!

The context of Churchill's admonition was the Germans were 7 years ahead in re-arming their military over Britain who was busy tackling a recession in the 1930's by "DIS-arming". When Germans attacked and goose step over to Poland in 1939, war with France and Britain was inevitable! As we know in history, Never Give Up mentality gave Britain an eventual victory.

TO Jack and all my students,

SO CAN YOU!

I BELIEVE IN YOU!

I KNOW YOU CAN!

Thank you so much Mr. Marcus for giving such useful tips. My lousy lecturer Kiran didn't even specify it as clear as you. She is always wanting to cover her ass in the class. Her classes was soooo boring and she kept bragging about her success bla bla bla and all she know is to read straight from the text book or notes. By little brother also know la dey... Mr. Marcus I heard a lot about your teaching on F8 and last time Mr.Teo even let you teach because the entire F8 class of Kiran boycott her... She's still here in SunwayTes... Mr.Teo realli no eyes one...

hi,

On average, there are 900-1200 graduates every year. Many can do it, SO CAN YOU. I very hopeful the exam tips for F8, P1 and P3 are helpful at this very late stage.

My sincere wishes that you clear and achieve GRADUATION.

Best regards
Marcus Ong

Hi,
That is wonderful. Which sitting you are talking about?

If world prize, automatically also will be Malaysian Prize.

I hope ACCA office didn't messed it up with 2 winners.

Who is this, please?

Cheers.

I am so glad Kiran won the prize.

But a bit suprised to hear, as I understand the college's policy is never give credit to lecturer. its the students who won the prizes.

If students failed, its the lecturers' fault. Never a fair & never a perfect world.

By the way, your world prize winner should appear on Student Magazines. Which issue is it and what page? Appreciate your confirmation on it.

Best wishes.

Cheers
Marcus

Its a little weird that you are claiming it to be your prize-winner only in late Nov when infact the prize-winners were announced in Sept 09.

also, in your last sem in sunway, yes you had a class but a majority of students were still with ms kiran, and me being one of them.

all said and done, i'm one of her products who completed my f8 in the 1st attempt and with flying colours, all thanks to her dedication, persistence and commitment!

each lecturer has his/her own style and we should look at the positive aspect, no one is perfect!

why dont you just focus on your students only rather than trying to pinch from everwhere!

Good luck on your new career move! hope you'll make it there!

regards

To Anonymous who commented 3 Dec, you simply lack ethics, you learnt from ms kiran and then you complain!

bdw, we are all humans and hv diff preferences, so no lect suits everyone. that's part of life. but just for your info, ms kiran had 2 classes that sem when mr marcus was teaching, whereas he only had 1 class!

with regard to this sem, my friends told me that she had 3 full time classes!

your aim to study and pass acca, then stay focused!

regards

Wow! what an amazing chat here. Yes I do heard a lot about the improper teaching style, un ethical attitude of Kiran. My brother want to go Sunway next sitting, maybe I will ask him to think twice. Thanks for pointing a link to this blog from the forum. It's a very useful blog. Will inform all my friends that is planning to take F8 in Sunway to be aware of Kiran.

^-^

Hi Anonymous,

Thank you for such keen interest in my life. As lecturer, I am only keen to assist students to progress. I know that education is the key to better QUality of life in terms of standard of living.

It helped me, my brother, cousins and more than a thousand ACCA graduates.

I know of one student after graduated was able to finance her younger sister studies, relieve her mother who is a dishwasher in a 5 star hotel and pay [sadly] for her then sickly father's funeral. ACCA qualification assisted her in very practical way.

I hope you too are doing the same - presumably you are a superstar lecturer/management from Sunway. It must be great to have so many hundreds of ACCA students admire yo and the team of Sunway lecturers. Do enjoy your fame, limelight and glory.

For me, i am contented to be a 'mere' lecturer.

On Mr Daniel Lee, a fine partner, but with dynamics in life, we have to part ways pursuing our own destiny. Change is the only constant.

Cheers
