MOVING FORWARD: KASTURI SCHOOL OF ACCOUNTANCY

A PURPOSE
My career is strongly interlinked to the students success. Imagine, if one ACCA candidate graduates, it means a productive, profitable 30years of good career/business venture. That candidate may likely have own family to provide for, siblings to support and not to forget enduring parents to care for. Yes, you help one ACCA candidate to graduate, you help many.

My purpose, "Every ACCA Candidate CAN GRADUATE"

A REFLECTION
Having excess of 12 years lecturing experiences which includes mentoring, motivating and encouraging all ACCA candidates in few tuition centres, last being INTI College (Subang), I am more motivated to seek ways to enhance ACCA influence by bringing in more graduates. Constantly innovating, mentoring and motivating ACCA Candidates to nudge them to realise their personal potential.

A FUTURE
Yes, seeking opportunities on how to fulfil my (career) purpose . I decided to join - KASTURI SCHOOL OF ACCOUNTANCY - having seen its suitable strategy of making education affordable and achievable.

"Anyone can complete ACCA" - in view of its
= no-frills/inexpensive pricing. Starting from RM250 per subject, students obtain weekly classes,
= Kaplan Study Text (ACCA Approved),
= basic amenities like library and comfortable classrooms.
= The attraction is of course expert lecturers who trained and produce many graduates.
= SPECIAL GIFT - Scientific Calculator (for the first 200 students), only applicable to Kasturi College in Bandar Sunway.

If you don't believe, invest RM250 and try it out! "Invest" is the word for its no loss since you will learn, practice and sharpen your exam techniques attending classes. (SEE links below LOCATION MAPS for KASTURI (Bandar Sunway) and KASTURI (KUALA LUMPUR)

I believe, its the one-stop centre where all ACCA candidates can obtain best support in terms of very experienced and seasoned lecturers.

A WORD OF APPRECIATION
When in INTI Subang, I have the support of Mr Daniel Lee, Director of ACCA Division, fellow lecturers-colleagues, admin staff and INTI Central Management notably Ms Joyce Yuen, the President, who worked so tirelessly for the program's explosive growth and success. An experience I will cherish.

Not to forget the most important stakeholder, who made the program a SUCCESS, all ACCA & CAT students who believed that they can WIN. I believe all you students are in good hands- the management that will that will make your dream a reality - A BETTER FUTURE.

A NEW CHAPTER
I will begin a new chapter in January 2010 in KASTURI SCHOOL OF ACCOUNTANCY (Kuala Lumpur City Campus) specialising in:
+ F8 (Audit & Assurance),
+ P1 (Professional Accountant),
+ P7 (Advanced Audit and Assurance).
+ Oxford Brookes University Research Mentoring

I will serve and benefit oversea students too, namely China for:
+ P3 (Business Analysis)
+ F8 (Audit and Assurance)

A CONCLUSION
This new location provides exciting opportunity to assist and support more students to achieve success in ACCA - certainly is beautiful, meaningful and wonderful mission to pursue.

Thanks for your well wishes. I must beg to differ though, Mr Daniel Lee has been ethical and fair. I learn much from him this past year.

Just as in life, there is no certainty. We part ways seeking our own destiny.

Cheers
Marcus

Such is life isn't it. Gone are the days where the Japanese practice lifetime employment. I don't know anybody who does this today. confident to say, it must apply to you too.

But i am grateful for the learning experience I have had since the KPMG days until today.

Yes life is a journey of experimentation. Each of us trying to find a balance between career and life itself.

I wish to be able to assist as many students to graduate as possible. as a graduate, is truly profitable career/business. Everyone counts. As much as i can, help each and everyone of you to achieve it.

Best wishes and may all ACCA candidates have a great holiday for next year 2010 is another battle to come.

A kind soul Samaritan pointed out the link map for KSA P Jaya is wrong. Thank you, as I have made the correction.

KSA is a win-win situation for all ACCA candidates:
- experienced highly motivated and seasoned lecturers. The average years of experiences in lecturing ACCA is excess 10 years. You hardly can find that. Its like looking at a seasoned surgeon in a reputable medical care.
- for RM250 to begin with, you have a copy of study text Kaplan.
- its inclusive of lecture notes. You don't pay extra for those notes.
- there is no carry forward fees where you pay advance and then the balance is 'kept' by college. You pay Term 1 and then if you like pay for Term 2. Fair! No nonsense.

- Hardwork is the key to ACCA graduation.

Cheers
Marcus

I attended your audit revision classes in Inti for the December 2009 sitting and you were fantastic.
You are a great lecturer. I wish to join your class July 2010 intake when u come to Kasturi Sunway branch. God bless you.

Kasturi Vs Inti
Since Marcus gone from Inti and Inti ACCA class is conducted right on top of the shop lot I dun think so I will still go Inti since Marcus is the main quality lecturer there. The rest of the lecturer in Inti... nothing impressive...

Anonymous said...

Kasturi compare with Sunway
Price..
Sunway much much more expensive then Kasturi..and SunwayTES keep increasing the price and providing poor quality text book and their lecturers are very Lan Ci Lan Yong (Kiran and frens)
Lecturers..
Marcus being a main lecturer in Sunway going to Kasturi is a value add to Kasturi. Students paying a more affortable price with quality lecturers. I am not sure about the text book they use, anyone know?
Also there's so many gossips and bad words about Kiran in Sunway.. Even my parents are concern about me being in Sunway...

Well guess I will have to go meet Marcus. Since Marcus first round in Kasturi, I am sure he will do his very best rite? Marcus ;) LOL... C u then yah...

Hi Anonymous,

Thank you for your kind words. As always, I do my best because its the every ACCA candidate future is either fantastic career or so-so one.

In KSA, Kaplan is the official text. In addition, there is lecturer's notes and Question Bank.

TO share with you, together with my ACCA classmates, we studied and graduated ACCA studying in a shop house tuition provider. We were there for the substance, namely the lecturing quality. But that didn't stop us for going for top amenities/faciliteis like Sg Wang, Lot 10 amonngst others.

That is much in Singapore and UK. Malaysia has the luxury of campus facilities as an additional choice.

Promise me, if you join, do your assignments and full class attendance. Crucial-ler!:)

Dear All Pofessional Level CAndidates,

Please note that I have changed the P7 (AAA) time table to Saturdays 10am - 5 pm for the convenience of all working adults.

Also, Full time students will finish their class by 5pm, that way it won't be too late to return home or at least have Saturday evenings with their loved ones.

May 2010 bring another year of meaningful progress - PASS ACCA!

Dear Marcus ,

Pls delete the messages that condem other competitors

You teach P1 rite ?

Anonymous said...

Dear Anonymous,

Well, should I delete your comments? No, for your opinion has no vulgarities and immaturities, much the same as others who merely express their opinion. My blog's focus is to enhance ACCA pursuit of success.

I am quite tolerant, and will respect people's opinions. If anyone is uncomfortable, well its a personal blog, you can exercise freedom and judgement whether you want to visit it.

Ethics, is a broad term. The most basic is "Do Unto others, if you want others do unto you"

Questions-principles to start with ourselves '1st' to consider:
- Do I like people to delete my comments/conversation?
- Don't I also have positive and negative comments of others too?
- Is the media used, a personal column or public news?

For consistencies, I do receive criticisms too. But when i pursue to constructively undo it, it turns those 'spammers' never came forward to clear the air. Well, I treat them as mere opinions of others.

So can you! Otherwise, why not read up on the economist.com or theedgedaily.com websites. But be wary though, they have full of criticisms of others too- the fad now is on Tiger Woods.

Cheers
Marcus

Well said Marcus,

I just wan to add on . Sunway College lecturers always think they are super stars .

eg High profile lecturers come late for class and finish early . The mgt does not know or dun care about this . They think they can survive for long term .

So LCLY.

Hey Marcus ,

Wow this topics are interesting .

I wan to add . . . daniel lee is a lousy boss uh?

Hi Anonymous,

Thank you for such keen interest in my life. As lecturer, I am only keen to assist students to progress. I know that education is the key to better QUality of life in terms of standard of living.

It helped me, my brother, cousins and more than a thousand ACCA graduates.

I know of one student after graduated was able to finance her younger sister studies, relieve her mother who is a dishwasher in a 5 star hotel and pay [sadly] for her then sickly father's funeral. ACCA qualification assisted her in very practical way.

I hope you too are doing the same - presumably you are a superstar lecturer/management from Sunway. It must be great to have so many hundreds of ACCA students admire yo and the team of Sunway lecturers. Do enjoy your fame, limelight and glory.

For me, i am contented to be a 'mere' lecturer.

On Mr Daniel Lee, a fine partner, but with dynamics in life, we have to part ways pursuing our own destiny. Change is the only constant.

Cheers

hi sir, the timetable have been change to weekend,
is a sad thing to hear that as it clashes with some other classes.

anyway, all the best in teaching.
is such a great thing to have another dedicated lecturer came over KSA.

Anonymous said...

Hi ACCA Finalist candidates,

Pls inform me, which P7 class is clashing with which other subjects?

I think its ok to clash with P1-P3, as most students will complete it before doing optionals.

Regards
Marcus

Anonymous said...

from what I seen the latest timetable,
P4 (20 feb) and P5 (20 Mar) have clash one time for the term..

ou,okay, understandable...
sadly i taking 3 and optional together..nvm then..

Anonymous said...

Hi ACCA FInalists,

The P7 timetable should not clash with other optionals - namely P4 & P5. Will look into it. If you are doing 3 papers, I assume you are a full time student.

Otherwise, 'chaik lat' - very heavy duty to take 3 papers and work full time.

Cheers
Marcus

yeah..^^

anyway, all the best.

cheers.
